Prototype

This week I started my prototype for the game I am creating, it went okay I had some difficulties with scripts along the way but I got there in the end.

I created a basic scene with a capsule as my player and boxes as obstacles to avoid along the course.
I also added c# scripts for player movement as well as the camera following the player through the course.

The next steps for this would to design my level and have the player navigate around corners etc.

  1. Hey Mark your prototype looks really good so far, I can see you have a good idea of where you want your game to go and how you will progress. I think this game will be really cool. so far your capsule looks a bit like a blue minion which is funny. I like the positioning of the obstacles in your game Its evident that it will be slightly challenging to manoeuvre around them.
I cant wait to see the final outcome of this game. keep up the good work.

  2. Heya Mark,

Your prototype is looking clean and nicely planned out. I can tell you put a lot of effort into coming up with how to build your game. I say them Unity Tutorials were a blessing for your game :D. I am really looking forward to seeing where you will go in relation to designing the game. Do you know how you will make the player go around corners yet? I wouldn't have a clue myself but I'm sure there is a tutorial out there somewhere for that hahah.

Best of luck in the making of a good game,
    Linda.

  3. Hey Mark!
Nice start to your game, it looks like you have a good idea so far of how you want the basics of your game to look and it's looking good. The mechanics are always the tricky part of the game, so hopefully you have no trouble with any of that!
Best of luck with the rest of your process!
    Rachael :)

  4. Hey Mark,

Your prototype so far is looking really good so far. Have you considered what player model you might use in the future or are you going to stick with the one your using currently? You can find some really cool assets within Unity its self to use if you dont feel like creating any from scratch. Really like the layout tho so far.

  5. Hey Mark,

Looks like you're making a good start on your game idea so far! It's good to start basic and make sure the core mechanics work well before adding some more detailed assets and mechanics into the game, and you seem to be doing well and on course to make something really good here! Looking forward to it :)
